Sailing Yacht Research Foundation (SYRF) is a non-profit organization run by a group of sailors and scientists who, through research into the performance of competitive sailing yachts, make it their goal to develop the tools that aid in promulgating better handicap racing in all categories. As a primarily educational website, their old layout was understandably monotonous and text-heavy. We were brought onboard to give it a fresh, modern look.

The primary existence of their site is to raise funds so they can continue to pursue and develop more projects, and serve as a portal to their extensive database. That said, their visitors are mainly prospective sponsors, researchers, sailors and/or students. SYRF's new look makes it more appealing to explore, with images providing necessary breaks from all the text. We also made it easy to find the 'donate' button! Our update shows that informational websites don't have to be boring, they can be professional and modern.
